Move families from surviving to thriving.

For more than ten years, monthly supporters with our Family Empowerment Project have helped families stay intact in Ethiopia. As we've built relationships with these precious families, we have wanted them to move from surviving to thriving.

Therefore, we have begun planning special initiatives for program participants. We host events and training programs throughout the year to teach valuable skills and promote a sense of community. We provide support for things like tuition or emergency medical care as these needs arise, and we are starting a micro-loan program for specific families who are able to start businesses so they can begin supporting themselves.

Your generous gift can fund these initiatives:

  • $250 could provide a micro-loan for a self-sustaining business.
  • $500 could provide tuition for a year for a worthy student.
  • $600 could provide a special party for a missions team to throw for families while in-country.
  • $750 could provide medical expenses for one year.
  • $1000 could provide a parent training.

Any amount helps! Costs can vary. If you have questions about which of these needs are currently the most urgent and their exact cost, contact Ethiopia Project Coordinator Melinda Sallé at melinda.salle@awaa.org.

“‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’”
