Help us continue our legacy of building families through God's design for adoption!
Can you believe it's been 30 years?!
On August 1, 1994, Brian and Renee Luwis traveled to China for the very first time to bring their daughter, Fei, home. On this trip, they witnessed how many children needed homes, and the dream of a Christian international adoption agency was born.
Now, almost 30 years later, the need to match adoptable orphans with loving, Christian families remains, although the landscape of adoption has changed. As countries close their doors, change their policies, and experience unrest, we continue to seek new avenues to serve the most vulnerable.
Currently, we have active programs in India, Colombia, Bulgaria, Ecuador, and Haiti. In addition, we continue to pray for China to open back up, and we serve children and families in Ethiopia.
Here are three reasons why we need your support now more than ever:
- Adoption fees do not cover the entire cost of adoption. Your generous gift will help us underwrite over 30% of the cost to try to keep adoption affordable.
- Opening a new program is a considerable investment. We experience a gap between the time we begin the accreditation process with a new country and when we can begin to accept enough fees to cover our expenses. Your support will allow us to bridge this gap.
- Our special projects in Haiti and Ethiopia are not fully funded by gifts designated to these projects. Gifts to “where needed most” help us keep these programs going while we work to raise money specifically for these needs. For more information on our special projects and links to give specifically to them, visit https://awaa.org/orphan-care/projects/.
Today, international adoption is experiencing some of its hardest times. Agencies continue to close due to the rising cost of adoption. However, we are reminded of this promise…
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9
We believe God has a plan and purpose for our ministry! Your generosity will ensure it stays strong over the next 30 years.
