Right now, a child like Tanvi is waiting for hope. Adopted from India in 2018, Tanvi had been abandoned by her birth mother at a hospital in India, most likely due to the complex medical needs that would have eventually taken her life.

Her story changed completely when she found her family. When her family brought her home, she weighed fourteen pounds at two years old and was extremely dehydrated and malnourished. She entered the hospital within two days and had the first of eight surgeries she would need. Since then, her family has watched her bloom.

Like Tanvi, many of the children waiting to be adopted internationally have medical needs that make them hard to place, but they would thrive with a family who can provide quality care and loving support.
